How can you claim a settlement in the New World How can you claim a settlement in the New World Settlements in New Wo Group Admins Public Group active 3 years, 2 months ago Settlements in New World refer to various areas within Territories that players can declare as part a collective organisation known as Companies which belong to one of game world’s three Factions. Settlements are initially small, providing minor quality of life enhancements or buffs for players, but can be developed by the residents of its territory. Settlements play a significant function in territorial control, and also serve to drive the economy. This page covers all information regarding Settlements and related systems. Settlements of New World are pre-built and start off as small hamlets scattered across Aeternum’s Territories and Zones. Each settlement has a defined layout which can be expanded by its inhabitants, converting the settlements into larger towns, or even complete cities once they’ve been occupied. Settlements play a crucial part in player and game development, providing a range of services, high-quality of life upgrades and boosts for players. Within settlements, players can build their own houses, access crafting stations, and make trades with others. Settlements also serve as the base of operations as well as an important hub for all the things that players can engage in. In addition, settlements serve as the respawning points for players in case they are unable to recover from their injuries while exploring the world. The process of claiming a Settlement starts by signing up to one of game’s three Factions: The Marauders, The Syndicate or The Covenant. The three factions are vying for control of Aeternum the territory, territories and its resources. Each has their individual motives and plans for Aeternum’s future. In the beginning of the game, players can take on the Quest sequence that leads into joining one or more of the factions and preparing for future ventures. Within Factions there is the possibility for players to form or join companies, which are organizations run by players similar to clans or guilds in other games. In order to claim to a Settlement, the Company must first take over the region that the settlement is situated in the Faction they belong to. The game’s start date is the day that Settlements do not have owners and are claimed by paying the claim fee at the settlement’s Fort. Once all settlements have been claimed, however, the only way to take over is to participate in War which is a significant PvP component of the game. Companies that have successfully claimed a Settlement will have also obtained the Territory they reside within. But, they only serve as proxies for their own Factions and owning territories and their settlements ultimately belonged to the Faction. The creator of a company is as the Governor. Taking over an area makes their Governor that territory too. Governors play an important responsibility in maintaining control over the territory and its settlement through the management of the Territory Upkeep. Territory Upkeep is a process which Governors are required to pay keen attention to. Every Settlement gets higher with the completion of various tasks and is maintained by an engaged economy. A Governor’s main duty is to establish and keep the tax rates for all activities carried out by participants within a Settlement like crafting and trading. These taxes are incorporated into the profits for the settlement. Additionally, the Territory Upkeep fee must be paid on a weekly basis in order to stop the level of the settlement from falling. The cost increases when the settlement increases in size and scope. The Governor may also appoint at least one Consul who can be appointed to oversee the settlement in his absence. Territories, War and Faction Missions As each settlement belongs to an Territory the management of the territory is vital to keeping ownership of the settlement, its facilities and bonuses. The territorial control is defined by the results of a War declaration. Businesses that belong to opposing factions have to declare War on a specific territory and take part in special PvP battles to take ownership from the controlling faction and their companies. War can only be declared against weak or weak territory. A territory can become undermined or contested if an opposing group has successfully completed enough PvP Faction missions within the territory, raising their power while reducing the influence of the dominant faction’s. After a War declaration is made after which the opposing faction will count each company’s influence contribution during the undermining process. A company which has contributed at more than 10% of influence needed to challenge an area will stand the chance of being selected through a lottery to be the most powerful Vanguard. As the governor of the Vanguard will be able select players to take part in the PvP Siege These are battles of a massive scale that involve 50 vs. 50-player combat. The Governor can choose from their own organization or any other players from the faction, or players from another faction in the event that there aren’t enough participants to round out the ranks. The War will be fought at a specific time set by the fighting Company or Faction. A War’s main objective is to successfully capture or defending an area known as the Territory Fort, depending on whether the participant is on the attacking or defending side. A side that is attacking must take 3 Rally Points on the way to the gates of the Fort. Rally points cannot be recaptured by the opposing faction, and serve as respawn points and access points to armory to the faction that is attacking. If the rally points of all three are taken, the attackers can successfully break through the gates and gain control of the territory. They will claim victory for their faction and businesses. In contrast, the defense side must fend off the attackers and fight until the period of time is up in order to take back the battle and claim their territory. Players can buy and own housing within settlements. Housing is a place for the player to quickly travel to, and decorate with furniture that is made using the Furnishing trade skill, as well as trophy mounts that offer powerful bonuses to the player. Decorating a home can boost its score which is used to compete against other players in the settlement. Houses that score higher will be seen by other players in the settlement while low-scoring houses simply exist in their own circumstances. Players can purchase a house beginning at level 15. More houses can be purchased at levels 35 and 55. A house comes with the cost of a fixed amount based on the tier. Higher tiers offer more space for decorations and trophy prizes, in addition to the ability to travel faster for a shorter time. Apart from the upfront purchase cost, houses have an associated property tax them which must be paid to the business who owns the settlement. The tax is due once a week and failure to do so will disable certain features in the Housing, like the ability to decorate, win trophy buffs and fast traveling. Each Settlement is equipped with a set of Trading Skill Stations which are used for Trade Skills of the Crafting and Refining lines to create products and equipment and refining resources collected in the world into materials that can be used. Every trade skill has specific stations for crafting or refining items . Each item must be a tier-level item in order to craft or refine. This tier level corresponds to the degree of crafting station. The higher level of the crafting station, the greater and more diverse selection of items that can be created. Levels of skill stations for trading can be increased by taking on Town Projects. Town Projects are major-scale initiatives which players can participate in with each other to improve the facilities and settlement of their. A town project may be initiated by the Governor of the territory at which point each player of the faction is able to contribute by fulfilling special tasks. The task includes the gathering of a range of resources, crafting a range of items that are specific to the area and then removing the population of certain wildlife and monsters. These tasks can reward players with experience points and loot. However, the most important reward is to contribute towards the project’s success. Town projects have a major role to play in territorial control , as many projects help bolster a settlement’s defenses such as the use of more durable materials for fortificationsand upgrades to the defensive arsenal of a settlement for use during sieges and contribute to the settlement’s overall level. The higher a town’s level is, the harder it will be to thwart the dominating faction’s influence over the territory. If there is the success of the War Declaration, higher level settlements that have completed numerous town-related projects will be able to access to more sophisticated defensive weapons, making it easier for them to retain control.
