And, of course, you need Internet connection. You can buy movies online even with a modem, but the higher the speed, the faster you get the movie you are dying to see!

Movie Online This eliminates all the time and travel associated with renting at a video store. There is no need to waste time in traffic or standing in long lines. All of these problems are eliminated with online movie rentals.

    I had one online reviewer
go way beyond not liking one of my movies. They personally attacked me over my face. No way I could change that part of making a movie. I think the line was, "Your face makes me sick." Not only did the viewer hate one of my movies, they hated my face. Hell, I have not ever appeared in a movie I’ve done in a cameo or acting role. That was funny to me. It reminds of the story about the cowboy that catches a terrible beating from another cowboy. The winning cowboy looks down at the losing cowboy asking if he still wants more. The losing cowboy fires back, "Are you crazy?

The two leaders in this industry are Netflix and Blockbuster, and it’s important to take a step back and put forth an honest DVD rental comparison between these two massive companies. Is one really better than the other, and how can you make a sound decision?

Video & Audio Previews. This way is probably the best if you want to get into the atmosphere of the movie and find out how well it is directed. Though it takes a couple of minutes to download, it’s worth it!

Members of forums post sharp and witty comments I enjoy reading, even if it happens one of my movies is getting flamed. A filmmaker that has thin skin should stay out of forums. It’s like when professional athletes are heckled and cursed at by fans. The difference is that during making a movie there will be no heckling or cursing directed at you while you’re working on set. That’s unless you invite a Guy Terrifico personality friend to the set to watch.

For even more convenience, there’s also the option of creating a wish list, or queue, to keep the movies coming. Once a movie is returned, another from the list is sent out as they become available. Email confirmation is sent both ways as well. Of course, as with any business or service, there may be downsides. Unless you’re a new member, some of the new releases may be harder to come by. Most of the availability is dependent on the returns from other members. Also, unlike video stores, you don’t get to view movies right away. Most online movie rentals are delivered within 1-3 business days, and depending on availability, viewing the top movies on your wish list may not happen as soon as you would like. DVDs can also get easily scratched or damaged from continual handling through the mail.

When you rent online, the DVD is shipped from a warehouse which means that it is less likely to be out of stock since the warehouse stocks many copies. This is not the case when you visit a bricks and mortar store where "out of stock" rentals are more common. These stores only have so much storage space.
